Ingredients

Units Scale

For the Steak:

  • 2 ribeye or sirloin steaks
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder

For the Cajun Shrimp Sauce:

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 8 oz shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for extra heat)
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Steak

    • Pat the steaks dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
    • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
    • Sear the steaks for 3-4 minutes per side (or until desired doneness). Remove from the skillet and let them rest.
  • Make the Cajun Shrimp Sauce

    • In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
    • Add the shrimp and cook for about 2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
    • Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds.
    • Stir in Cajun seasoning, paprika, onion powder, and red pepper flakes.
    • Pour in chicken broth and scrape up any brown bits from the pan.
    • Reduce heat and add heavy cream and Parmesan cheese, stirring until smooth.
  • Combine & Serve

    • Return the shrimp to the skillet, stirring to coat in the sauce.
    • Place the steaks back into the pan and spoon the sauce over them.
    • Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a splash of lemon juice to the sauce.
  • If you prefer a thicker sauce, let it simmer a little longer before adding the shrimp.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes, pasta, or steamed vegetables.
