Scale
- 1 (14.75 oz) can pink salmon, drained and flaked
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (or crushed saltine crackers)
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup finely diced onion
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning (optional)
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (or 1 teaspoon dried)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil (for frying)
Instructions
- Prepare the Salmon Mixture: In a bowl, combine salmon, mayonnaise, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, garlic powder, paprika, Old Bay seasoning, parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix well until evenly combined.
- Form Patties: Shape the mixture into 6–8 evenly sized patties. If the mixture is too wet, add a little more breadcrumbs.
- Heat the Oil: In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat.
- Fry the Patties: Carefully place the salmon patties in the hot oil and fry for 3–4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy.
- Drain & Serve: Remove from the skillet and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Garnish & Enjoy: Serve hot with lemon wedges, tartar sauce, or a dipping sauce of your choice.
Notes
- Fresh Salmon Option: If using fresh salmon, cook it first and flake it before mixing.
- Make Ahead: The patties can be shaped in advance and stored in the fridge for up to 24 hours before frying.
- Air Fryer Option: Cook at 375°F for 12–15 minutes, flipping halfway through, for a healthier version.
