- 4 cups chicken broth
- 2 cups green cabbage, shredded
- 1 cup carrots, julienned
- 1 tbsp soy sauce (or coconut aminos for gluten-free)
- 1 tsp rice vinegar
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1/2 tsp Chinese five-spice powder (optional)
- 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
- 1 tbsp cilantro, chopped (for garnish)
- Sesame seeds (for garnish)
Instructions
- Heat sesame oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add ground pork and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon.
- Add onion, garlic, and ginger, cooking until fragrant (~2 minutes).
- Pour in chicken broth and bring to a simmer.
- Add cabbage, carrots, soy sauce, rice vinegar, black pepper, red pepper flakes, and five-spice powder. Stir well.
- Simmer for 10-15 minutes until vegetables are tender.
- Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
- Serve hot, garnished with green onions, cilantro, and sesame seeds.
