Description

Delightful, crispy treats perfect for Easter celebrations! These Rice Krispie Easter Eggs combine the classic texture of Rice Krispies and marshmallows with a festive chocolate coating. Great as a fun dessert or snack during the holidays.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 3 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 2 cups mini marshmallows
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (for dipping)
  • Sprinkles (optional)

  • Egg-shaped molds (or hands for shaping)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Mixture:

    • In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat.
    • Add the mini marshmallows and stir until completely melted and smooth.
    • Remove the pot from heat and gently stir in the Rice Krispies cereal until well coated.
  • Form the Eggs:

    • Press the mixture firmly into egg-shaped molds or shape by hand on a parchment-lined tray.
    • Let the formed eggs cool until they firm up (about 10 minutes).
  • Coat with Chocolate:

    • Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth.
    • Dip each Rice Krispie egg into the melted chocolate, allowing excess to drip off.
    • Optionally, sprinkle with festive sprinkles while the chocolate is still soft.

  • Set and Serve:

    • Place the chocolate-coated eggs back on the parchment paper.
    • Refrigerate for a few minutes until the chocolate has set.
    • Serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • Mini marshmallows melt more evenly than standard ones.
  • For a colorful twist, consider using different colored or flavored chocolate.
  • If you don’t have egg molds, you can form the mixture into egg shapes by hand.
