Description

Inspired by classic lasagna flavors, this warm, layered dip is a hearty and cheesy crowd-pleaser. It features a savory meat marinara base layered with a creamy blend of ricotta and cream cheeses, then topped with melted mozzarella and Parmesan. Perfect as an appetizer at parties or a comforting snack, serve it with toasted bread or crackers.

Ingredients

– 1 lb lean ground beef (or Italian sausage)

– 1 small onion, finely diced

– 3 garlic cloves, minced

– 1 tsp Italian seasoning

– Salt and pepper, to taste

– 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce

– 1 cup ricotta cheese

– 8 oz cream cheese, softened

– 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (divided)

– 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (divided)

– Fresh basil, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 375°F.

2. In a large skillet over medium heat, sauté the diced onion until soft (about 3 minutes). Add minced garlic and cook for another minute.

3. Add the ground beef and Italian seasoning. Cook until the meat is browned and crumbly. Season with salt and pepper. Drain any excess fat.

4. Stir in the marinara sauce and let the mixture simmer for 5 minutes.

5. Meanwhile, in a medium bowl, combine the ricotta and cream cheese with ½ cup mozzarella and ¼ cup Parmesan. Mix until smooth.

6. In a 9×9-inch baking dish, spread the cheese mixture evenly. Then layer the meat marinara mixture on top.

7. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses over the meat layer.

8. Bake for 20–25 minutes until the dip is bubbly and the cheese on top is lightly golden.

9. Garnish with fresh basil and serve warm with toasted bread, crackers, or tortilla chips.

Notes

– For a vegetarian version, omit the meat and add sautéed mushrooms or spinach.

– The dip is best enjoyed warm; reheat gently in the oven if needed.

– Adjust seasoning to taste; a dash of red pepper flakes can add a subtle kick.

– Serve with your favorite dippers such as toasted baguette slices, crackers, or fresh vegetables.
