- 1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed
- 4 oz guava paste
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 1 tbsp water
- Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut into 6 equal rectangles.
- Slice the guava paste into thin pieces and place in the center of half of the pastry rectangles.
- Top with the remaining pastry rectangles and press the edges with a fork to seal.
- Whisk the egg with water to make an egg wash and brush over the top of each pastry.
- Bake for 15–18 minutes or until golden and puffed.
- Let cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar, if desired.
Notes
- Use cream cheese along with guava for a richer filling.
- Ensure the puff pastry is cold but pliable for easy handling.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container and reheat in the oven for best texture.
