Description
These Glow in the Dark Jolly Rancher Candy Apples are a fun and unique twist on the classic candy apple. Made with melted Jolly Ranchers and tonic water, they glow under black light, making them perfect for Halloween parties or themed events!
Ingredients
– 6 medium apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
– 1 bag (14 oz) Jolly Rancher hard candies (assorted flavors)
– 1/4 cup tonic water (for the glow effect)
– 6 lollipop sticks or wooden skewers
– Cooking spray (to prevent sticking)
Instructions
1. Wash and dry the apples thoroughly, then remove the stems. Insert a lollipop stick or skewer into the top of each apple.
2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly spray with cooking spray.
3. Unwrap the Jolly Ranchers and place them in a heatproof measuring cup or bowl.
4. Add tonic water and microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring each time, until fully melted (about 2 minutes).
5. Dip each apple into the melted candy mixture, tilting the cup to fully coat. Allow excess to drip off.
6. Place coated apples on the prepared baking sheet and let them set for about 15 minutes.
7. Once hardened, place under a black light to see them glow!
Notes
– The glow effect comes from quinine in the tonic water, so use a high-quinine tonic for the best results.
– For an extra spooky effect, serve under black lights at your party!
– Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
