Description

These Fried Strawberry Cheesecake Sandwiches are a perfect blend of creamy cheesecake filling, fresh strawberries, and golden, crispy bread. The combination of textures makes each bite a heavenly experience. Whether as a special dessert or a fun treat, these sandwiches are sure to impress!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 8 slices of thick bread (Texas toast works great)
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, diced
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon (optional)
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  • Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over 4 slices of bread.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the diced strawberries with granulated sugar and lemon juice. Let sit for 5 minutes to macerate.
  • Spoon the macerated strawberries onto the cream cheese-covered bread slices. Top with the remaining 4 slices of bread to form sandwiches.
  • In a shallow bowl, whisk together the egg and milk. In another shallow bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and cinnamon.
  • Dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, then coat with the flour mixture, ensuring it’s fully covered.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry the sandwiches for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy.
  • Remove from the skillet and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  • Dust with powdered sugar and serve immediately while warm.

Notes

  • For a healthier version, you can use whole wheat bread or a lighter cream cheese option.
  • Try adding other fruits like blueberries or raspberries for variation.
  • Serve with whipped cream or a drizzle of chocolate sauce for extra indulgence.
  • If you prefer a less sweet filling, reduce the powdered sugar in the cream cheese mixture.
