Description

A bold and zesty appetizer featuring tender meatballs glazed in a spicy-sweet firecracker sauce. Perfect for parties or a fun family dinner, these meatballs pack a punch with a blend of heat, tang, and a hint of sweetness.

Ingredients

– 1 lb ground beef (or a mix of beef and pork)

– 1/2 cup breadcrumbs

– 1 large egg

– 2 cloves garlic, minced

– 1/4 cup finely chopped onion

– 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

– 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley

– Salt and pepper, to taste

*For the Firecracker Sauce:*

– 1/3 cup sriracha sauce

– 2 tbsp honey

– 1 tbsp soy sauce

– 1 tbsp rice vinegar

– 1 tsp grated ginger

– 1 clove garlic, minced

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. In a large bowl, combine the ground meat, breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, chopped onion, Parmesan, parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

3. Form the mixture into small meatballs (about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter) and place them on the prepared baking sheet.

4. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the meatballs are cooked through and lightly browned.

5. Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, whisk together all the sauce ingredients over medium heat. Bring to a simmer and let it cook for 3-4 minutes until slightly thickened.

6. Once the meatballs are done, transfer them to a large bowl and toss gently with the firecracker sauce until evenly coated.

7. Serve immediately as a hot appetizer or party snack.

Notes

– For a smokier flavor, consider adding a dash of smoked paprika to the meat mixture.

– If you prefer a less spicy version, reduce the amount of sriracha in the sauce.

– These meatballs are also great when served over rice or noodles for a main dish.
