- 1 cup pizza sauce
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 package refrigerated crescent roll dough (or pizza dough)
- 1 cup crushed Nacho Cheese Doritos
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for spice)
- 1 tbsp butter, melted
- Ranch or marinara sauce for dipping
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cook the sausage in a pan over medium heat until browned. Drain excess grease.
- Mix the filling: In a bowl, combine the cooked sausage, pizza sauce, mozzarella cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes (if using).
- Prepare the dough: Roll out the crescent dough and cut into small squares or triangles.
- Fill and roll: Place a spoonful of the sausage mixture in the center of each piece, then roll it up, sealing the edges.
- Crush the Doritos: Place Doritos in a plastic bag and crush them into fine crumbs. Mix with Parmesan cheese.
- Coat the rolls: Brush each roll with the beaten egg, then roll them in the crushed Doritos mixture.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
- Brush with butter after baking for extra flavor. Serve warm with ranch or marinara sauce for dipping.
