Description

Country Peach Dumplings are a warm, comforting dessert featuring fresh or canned peaches wrapped in crescent roll dough, baked in a sweet cinnamon-butter sauce, and topped with a hint of vanilla and fizzy soda for an irresistible caramelized finish. Perfect for summer gatherings or a cozy treat any time of the year!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 large peaches, peeled, pitted, and cut into 8 slices (or 1 can of peach halves, drained)
  • 1 (8-count) can crescent roll dough
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup lemon-lime soda (like Sprite or 7UP)

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven:

    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • Wrap the Peaches:

    • Roll each peach slice in a crescent roll, starting at the wide end. Place the wrapped peaches seam-side down in the prepared baking dish.
  • Prepare the Sauce:

    • In a bowl, mix the melted butter, brown sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until well combined.
  • Assemble and Bake:

    • Pour the butter mixture evenly over the dumplings.
    • Slowly pour the lemon-lime soda around (not on top of) the dumplings.
    • Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly.
  • Serve Warm:

    • Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream!

Notes

  • Fresh peaches give the best flavor, but canned peaches work well too.
  • For a richer taste, substitute half the soda with heavy cream.
  • Add chopped pecans or walnuts for extra crunch.
