- 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
- 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 egg (for egg wash, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven: Set to 375°F (190°C). Grease a muffin tin or line with parchment paper.
- Prepare garlic butter: In a small bowl, mix melted butter, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
- Roll out pastry: Lightly roll out the puff pastry sheet on a floured surface. Brush evenly with garlic butter.
- Add cheese: Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan over the buttered pastry.
- Roll & cut: Roll the pastry tightly into a log. Slice the log in half lengthwise, exposing the layers.
- Shape cruffins: Roll each strip into a spiral and place them into muffin tin cavities.
- Bake: Brush tops with egg wash (if using) and bake for 18-22 minutes or until golden brown.
- Garnish & serve: Let cool slightly, then sprinkle with fresh parsley and extra Parmesan if desired.
Notes
- Substitute mozzarella with cheddar for a sharper flavor.
- Add chili flakes for a spicy twist.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days. Reheat in the oven for crispiness.
