Description

A delightful fusion dessert featuring crispy caramel-coated straw paired with soft pastel-colored noodles. This dish combines sweet, crunchy textures with a smooth and chewy bite, making it a perfect treat for special occasions.

Ingredients

– 1 cup sugar

– 1/2 cup water

– 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

– 1 tbsp butter

– 1/2 cup heavy cream

– 1 package pastel-colored noodles (rice or wheat-based)

– 4 cups water (for boiling)

– 1 tbsp honey (optional, for sweetness)

– 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

1. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar and water. Stir gently until the sugar dissolves.

2. Let the mixture cook without stirring until it turns a deep amber color (about 5-7 minutes).

3. Carefully add the butter and heavy cream, stirring continuously to create a smooth caramel sauce.

4. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract. Set aside to cool slightly.

5. In another pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add pastel noodles and cook according to the package instructions (usually 3-5 minutes).

6. Drain and rinse the noodles under cold water to prevent sticking.

7. Toss the noodles with a small amount of honey (if using) and a pinch of salt.

8. Drizzle the warm caramel sauce over the noodles and gently mix to coat.

9. Serve immediately with an extra drizzle of caramel or a sprinkle of crushed nuts for added texture.

Notes

– You can use any pastel-colored noodles, such as rice noodles dyed with natural food coloring.

– Add a pinch of sea salt to the caramel for a salted caramel variation.

– For extra crunch, sprinkle crushed nuts or cookie crumbs on top before serving.
