Description

Berry Croissant Bake is a delicious breakfast casserole made with buttery croissants, fresh berries, and a creamy custard. It’s perfect for brunch, holidays, or a weekend treat.


Ingredients

  • 4 large croissants, preferably day-old
  • 1 cup mixed berries (blueberries, raspberries, strawberries)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
  • Butter for greasing the baking dish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9-inch baking dish with butter.
  2. Slice croissants in half or into chunks and place in the baking dish.
  3. Scatter mixed berries evenly over the croissants.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla extract.
  5. Pour the custard mixture evenly over the croissants and berries.
  6. Gently press the croissants to soak up the custard. Let sit for 10–15 minutes if time allows.
  7. Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until golden and set in the center.
  8. Cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use stale croissants for better absorption and texture.
  • You can prepare this dish the night before and bake it in the morning.
  • Top with whipped cream or maple syrup for extra indulgence.
