These Asian-Inspired Crispy Chicken Sliders are packed with flavor! Crispy, golden-brown chicken is coated in a sweet and spicy Asian-style sauce and served on soft slider buns with fresh slaw. Perfect for parties, game nights, or a fun weeknight dinner!
Ingredients
– 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into slider-sized pieces
– 1 cup buttermilk
– 1 cup all-purpose flour
– 1/2 cup cornstarch
– 1 teaspoon baking powder
– 1 teaspoon garlic powder
– 1 teaspoon onion powder
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
– 1/2 teaspoon paprika
– 1 egg
– Vegetable oil for frying
– 8 slider buns
**For the Sauce:**
– 1/4 cup soy sauce
– 2 tablespoons honey
– 1 tablespoon sriracha
– 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
– 1 teaspoon sesame oil
– 1 teaspoon grated ginger
– 1 clove garlic, minced
**For the Slaw:**
– 1 cup shredded cabbage
– 1/2 cup shredded carrots
– 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
– 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
– 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
– Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1. In a bowl, mix the buttermilk and egg. Add the chicken pieces and let them marinate for 30 minutes.
2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and paprika.
3. Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
4. Remove the chicken from the buttermilk mixture and dredge each piece in the flour mixture until well coated.
5. Fry the chicken pieces for 5-7 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Drain on a wire rack.
6. In a small saucepan over medium heat, whisk together soy sauce, honey, sriracha, rice vinegar, sesame oil, ginger, and garlic. Cook for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
7. Toss the fried chicken in the sauce until evenly coated.
8. In a bowl, mix cabbage, carrots, mayonnaise, rice vinegar, sesame oil, salt, and pepper to make the slaw.
9. Assemble the sliders by placing crispy chicken on each slider bun and topping with slaw. Serve immediately.
Notes
– You can make the slaw in advance and refrigerate it for enhanced flavor.
– If you prefer a spicier kick, increase the amount of sriracha in the sauce.
– Use a thermometer to monitor oil temperature for perfect crispiness.
